Transport policy wing is dedicated to study and examine various policies in formulating suitable policy
applicable for nationwide and for the smooth operation of 70 member undertakings. TP wing has
versatile functions including networking, interaction and communication with and on behalf of all
member undertakings assisting them to know how of changing environment and also suggests solutions
to the problems related to scheduling, inter-state operation, safety management, social benefits accrued
by STUs, operating in competitive environment. Some imports functions of TP wing are outlined
below:
Providing platform to STU’s officials exposure of international practice best practice by conducting foreign
study tour w.r.t. upgraded technology in developed countries.
Correspondence on working group meetings of CEOs of SRTUs on National Transport Policy.
Organize meeting participate in debate and discussions for the interest of member SRTUs.

In addition to the above function Transport policy section works in tandem with member SRTUs and
various Departments of Government of India to address common issues faced by member SRTUs and
seek solution thereof. On the other hand ASRTU has been the nodal agency by the Departments of GOI
